I received some calls from businesses asking about Uber and Lyft, online transportation companies. These companies are not licensed nor permitted to operate in the City of Daytona Beach. We are reviewing their operations and although they have started offering services in this area, they are not licensed to do so.
I just wanted everyone to know this fact since there was some information relayed (not sure of the source) that these companies do not need to be licensed but that is not true; they must comply with all of the same requirements that any vehicle for hire company/operator in Daytona Beach must follow.
